LOYAC Lebanon launched its yearly Personal and Professional Development Program on the 30th of September, in a public event in Sanayeh Garden, in the presence of the Chairman of the National Media Council Dr. AbdulHadi Mahfouz, Fareah Al Saqqaf, founder of LOYAC, and Nadia Ahmad, the host of “Kalam Nawaem” on MBC.

The audience were amazed by the performances on stage: Present were the music band “Fer2et 3a Nota” with their vocalist Petra Hawwi,  Samantha Nader and her Friend Nour Hassoun who blazed their first live performance, and last, our very own LOYACers: Najwa Yassine and Yara Hijazi who performed three songs each during the time of the event. Yara also managed to give some yoga sessions to the public, and the participants were Syrian refugees as well as Lebanese. In addition, the audience enjoyed their expressive art sessions with Joe Sakr and took some Psychology tests with Dr. Michel Nawfal from Nawfal Clinics.

The event was sponsored by First National Bank, ACSP, Nawfal Clinics, Al Halabi Bookshop, Standards HR Consultants, Ta3mal, Rim, Dunkin Donuts and Careem.

LOYAC is a non-profit organization working for the overall development of youth. At LOYAC, we design and implement different programs that work on the personal and professional development of youth. It was founded by a group of committed women in Kuwait as a proactive response to the violence act that shook the world in September 11, 2001. The founding members of LOYAC recognized that youth can be lead towards peace by providing them with opportunities for personal growth, experiencing the joy of service and developing their professional skills through on job training internships that builds self-confidence.

In Lebanon, LOYAC runs two major programs: Personal and Professional Development (PPD) Program and Global Outreach. Both programs offer youth opportunities to develop their professional skills and enhance their personal growth. For most people, youth are the future. For us at LOYAC, youth are the present before being the future and this is where our slogan came from “Today is in our hands”.

The PPD program has three pillars:

  1. Diverse continuing education activities including workshops on soft and technical skills that would extend their education to constant learning, thus increasing their career options. All these workshops are provided for the students for free where our fellow volunteer professional instructors have been generous enough to embrace our students steadily.
  2. Community Service activities initiated and executed by our youth where LOYAC is their platform to be innovative in their social responsibility activities targeting maximum number and categories of beneficiaries. They believe that collective effort brings in collective impact.
  3. Internship opportunities upon completing the required number of workshops and community service where students are granted the chance to join for two months one of our fifty companies that receive our interns with open hands and mentor them to become skilled candidates for future employment opportunities.
